At any given time, we’re the accumulation and outcome of everything we’ve consumed.
With this in mind, in this video, I explain how and why I put myself on a “consumption diet” in July by cutting back my consumption of things I believed were negatively impacting my mental, physical, and emotional health.
The beauty of cutting back on things that don’t help us is that it doesn’t cost us any money, energy, or time; in fact, it does the opposite: it gives us more time, money, and energy.
In case it helps you brainstorm, the 12 things I cut back on were:
Caffeine
Refined sugar
Refined grains
Meat and seafood
Eating window
Social media
People who make her feel worse
Work email and Slack
Media that makes it hard to sleep
Artificial light after it gets dark
Takeout food
Buying clothes
It’s the start of a new month, a the perfect time to reflect and set clear intentions for yourself so that you end the month better than where you started it. Take some time to think about some easy wins you might enjoy by cutting back on things that may not be serving you and taking you toward your ideal version of your life.
